Finchingfield Village


 Finchingfield is a Village set in Essex that is 20 minute drive from Stansted Airport. Its a common tourist coach destination because it is generally regarded as being "very pretty". In fact it has won competitions for that in the past.

Views of the well known green ,pond, cottages and Church are often found on calendars, postcards, Christmas cards.

"It has been described as the most photographed village in England".



Described as picture-postcard pretty, Finchingfield is an idyllic Essex village complete with village pond, redbrick cottages and a white 18th century windmill.

There has been a settlement in finchingfield since historical records of the area began. There also archaeological evidence for a rome villa 400 metres south of the village church.

Finchingfield was recorded in the domesdaybook as Phincingfelda.

The village was an official stop for horse-drawn coaches travelling from London to Norwich.
